1: Q. What is a hair extension? | To the top
A. Hair extensions is a method of adding hair that is not your own onto your own hair. Clip in hair extensions are the safest way to add length, volume or color without causing damage to your own hair – a great alternative to permanent extensions.

All Clip–in extensions can be done at home in minutes without the expense of visiting a salon. All types, except clip–in extensions, should be put in by a salon professional for best results. The do it yourself application allows you to change your look in an instant – no salon visit required.

2: Q. What are a few types of Hair Extensions? | To the top
A. There are many different techniques in which hair extensions are applied. Some of the general terms the industry uses are as follows:

1. Clip in: MOST RECOMMENDED. Hair n Flair clip-in extension consists of hair that is pre–cut to 1 ¼ inch weft attached to a rubberized non-slip clip that allows you to clip on and off to your own hair. Simple and easy to wear, you can put it on or take it off yourself without costly, damaging glues and salon appointments.
2. Weaving: Requires a salon appointment. Tracks are created on the individuals head and the hair extensions are sewn in.
3. Braiding: Requires a salon appointment. The extensions are braided into the original hair.
4. U–Tip, I–Tip: Requires a salon appointment. The "U" shaped glue is already on the tip of the hair ready to attach using professional tools.
5. Hot glue gun method: Requires a salon appointment. The extension hair is attached directly to your own hair by heated glue stick.
6. Bonding: Requires a salon appointment. Bonding glue is brushed or applied onto the weft of the extension hair and then it is applied at the root of the individual's hair.
7. Tape: Requires a salon appointment. Special double sided tape is used to attach the extension to the root of the hair.

3: Q. Where does the hair come from? | To the top
A. Generally speaking, the human hair comes from the Hindu Churches from donations by women of that faith. The hair is then sold to manufacturers, usually in China, where the hair is sewn to form a “weft”, and sold to the International market. There are several grads of hair, with Grade “A” being the best quality. Hair ‘n Flair only uses the highest quality, Grade A, 100% human hair. We import the hair and after inspection, we package it here in the US.

A. There are many reasons to try clip-in hair extensions verses other methods. The main reasons are versatility and cost. Removable clip-in extension color last longer than permanently attached color extensions, as you remove the colored clip-in extension prior to shampooing or conditioning your hair several times a week.

7: Q. Human Hair extensions verses synthetic extensions? | To the top
A. Hair ‘n Flair Human hair extensions are made from Grade A 100% human hair and cost more than synthetic extensions. Human hair extensions last much longer than synthetic and are much more versatile in styling. If synthetic extensions are exposed to heat, the “bond” is broken and you are unable to re-style the synthetic extension. Hair n Flair’s 100 % human hair can be styled, washed and re-styled, just as your own hair.

8: Q. How much do clip-in extensions cost? | To the top
A. The cost of our 1¼” - removable clip-in extension is equal to the overall cost of ONE permanent color extension. (Cost of Hair, Cost for input, Cost to remove, and replace when the color has faded from frequent shampooing).

9: Q. How long and how wide are the clip–in extensions? | To the top
A. Most makers of colored hair extensions use 14” to 16” and a usually 3/4” weft. Hair ‘n Flair clip-in colored extensions are 18” long. Also, our wefts are over 1 ¼” wide. So, in essence, we offer more hair and longer length!

10: Q. Will the extensions fall out? | To the top
A. Not with Hair ‘n Flair! Our Rubberized Non-Slip Clip has been designed to prevent “Slippage”. They will not fall out of your hair as long as the clip remains closed. For fine hair or added security, you can tease the hair at the root of the hair where you wish to apply the clip. It is possible that they can slip down a bit if pulled, but with one hand, you can reach under your hair, open and re–snap the clip.

11: Q. Can the clip–ins be trimmed or cut? | To the top
A. Yes, as Hair ‘n Flair uses 100% human hair, the clip-ins can be cut or trimmed. This can be done at home, by an appropriate aged individual or under supervision if younger. Clip–in extensions are designed to look great as–is without a lot of cutting or customization. A. Our human hair extensions can be styled the same as your own hair: curl, straighten, spray, or style with your usual styling products.

A. Yes, Hair n Flair is Grade A 100% human hair. The clip-in extension can be styled just like your own hair with heating tools set on low to medium heat either pre-clipped in prior to styling or styled and then clipped in.

A. Colored clip-in extensions create unique and exciting updo styles. Extension clips are placed close to the head and covered with hair where you should not be able to see them. Clip-in extensions can be put in to complement any hairstyle and the clips remain unnoticeable.

A. You can brush or comb your hair with your clip in extensions attached. Press your finger on the clip and lightly begin brushing or combing below your finger.

17: Q. Can I sleep with the clip–in hair extensions? | To the top
A. Yes, you can, however, sleeping with your clip–in hair extensions is not recommended. One key to extending the wear life and beauty of your clip–in extension is to treat the clip-in hair extension as you would any quality accessory.

18: Q. Can I wear my clip-in hair extensions in the swimming pool or spa? | To the top
A. It is recommended that you do not swim in your clip in extensions. Just as any other human hair that has a direct dye color pigment; the chlorine can cause the colored clip-in extension to fade. Careful treatment is essential to extending the wear life and beauty of your Hair ‘n Flair colored clip–in extensions.

19: Q. Do I remove my clip-in extensions when shampooing my hair? | To the top
A. Yes! Shampooing hair fades color. This is one of the great advantages of our clip-in extensions. Unlike permanently attached colored extensions, this will allow the color of the clip in to remain as vibrant as the day you purchased your extension for a longer period of time.

20: Q. How long can I expect my clip-in extension last? | To the top
A. This is dependent on proper care and storage. With daily wear, clip-in extensions with human hair can last more than a year. Just remember, the color will fade slightly after repeated shampooing.

21: Q. How do I maintain and preserve my clip–in extensions? | To the top
A. Gentle shampoo and conditioner should be used. However, for best results, Hair ‘n Flair clip-in human hair extensions should be washed and conditioned with products designed for chemically treated hair to protect the color. Wash only when necessary, or as infrequent as possible. Using a minimum amount of shampoo on wet hair, apply shampoo stroking down from clip base to ends. Do not twist, scrub or rub the hair. Condition for 60 seconds. Rinse thoroughly. Gently towel blot to remove excess water. Hang or lay flat on a towel to dry. Make sure the clip-in extension is dry before storing.

22: Q. How should I store my clip–in hair extensions? | To the top
A. The best method for storage is in a plastic baggie. If you have styled your extension into a wavy, curled look, a suggestion would be to set them on a roller that conforms to the curl before storing. Keep your extensions clean and dry when storing.

23: Q. Can I travel through airport security while wearing clip-in hair extensions? | To the top
A. They shouldn't! The clips are very small and coated and the hair is 100% human. There has not been one reported incident that we know of.

24: Q. Will extensions hurt or damage my natural hair? | To the top
A. Hair n Flair Clip-in colored hair extensions utilize a rubberized non-slip clip designed to gently but securely attach without damaging your own hair. Make sure the clip is unsnapped before removing.

A. That is one of the advantages of having 17 colors to choose from. Clipping in color, lighter or darker shades creates instant highlights or lowlights by choosing a color, lighter or darker shade than your own hair.

A. Yes, Hair n’ Flair clip-in extensions can be styled to a wavy appearance using heat tools on low to medium to match your wavy hair. Hair n Flair clip-in extensions will work on all hair types with heat tools and practice.
